The 2011–12 Premier League (known as the Barclays Premier League for sponsorship reasons) is the twentieth season of the Premier League since its establishment in 1992. The 2011–12 fixtures were announced on 17 June 2011 at 9:00 BST. The season began on 13 August 2011 and is due to end on 13 May 2012. Manchester United are the defending champions, having won their 19th league title (12th since the creation of the Premier League) the previous season. Manchester United, seeking a record 20th English league title.

On 9th August 2011. I received an email from a visitor to this webpage, a huge Manchester United fan, with a question:

"Will Manchester United win the English Premier League title again?"

Here is the chart cast for date, place and time of when he asked the question:

After looking at the chart I told him: NO. (and yes, he did not believe me...)

The team the querent supports is given the first house ruler, as the team is regarded as an extension of the self, in the same way that the querent would say 'we won', despite the fact that he/she is not actually playing. So the ASC ruler Jupiter represents Manchester United. Their oponents are represented by the DSC ruler, Mercury rx.

We see that the ASC is on the fixed star Antares. Antares is about closing down and cycles ending, while the question was about "wining again..." so this is a negative indication for Manchester United. Next, taking accidental dignities into account, we see that Manchester United has a small advantage. But Mercury rx is on the most fortunate of fixed stars, Regulus! Regulus brings success! When it comes to the Moon's aspects (the Moon shows the flow of events) we find only one and that is a trine with Mercury rx!! That means that some other team will win the Premier League title, not Manchester United.

11 May 2012

City are in the box seat to claim their first league title for 44 years. Level on points with rivals Manchester United but leading by eight goals on goal difference, Roberto Mancini's side know that a win over Queens Park Rangers at Etihad Stadium will guarantee the title - barring the unlikely spectre of United winning by a margin of nine or more goals.

United's destiny is no longer in their own hands - as City's goal difference means that realistically, the Red Devils need to better their rival's result to snatch the title. So, Sir Alex Ferguson will only be celebrating on Sunday evening if United win at Sunderland and City fail to win, or if United draw and City lose.

On 13 May 2012, Manchester City lifted the Premier League trophy. So I was right, when 9 months earlier, I had predicted that Manchester United would not win the English Premier League title again. On the same day on the http://www.bbc.co.uk website you could read the following:

"Manchester City grab dramatic Premier League title win

Manchester City scored twice in stoppage time to be crowned champions for the first time in 44 years by beating Queens Park Rangers to win the Premier League on goal difference amid almost unbearable drama."
